Black Friday Ads

Jamison very seriously studying the Black Friday Ads on the morning of Thanksgiving. We are devout B.F. shoppers, so it is not surprising that the natural instinct has shown itself in Jamison this year. You can never start your training to early. And I do have to say that although I pride myself as a fine tuned, well trained B.F athlete, even I was not prepared for the horror Amy Williamsen and I encountered at Toys-R-Us this year. We endured things no human should ever have to endure. We saw things no human should ever see.
Every trial makes us stronger.
And next year I will return stronger and victorious yet again
as I head out to conquer the battlefield of Black Friday as never seen before!!!! I will reign
supreme!!!!

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we spent Thanksgiving at home in Bountiful. It was just our little family but we were glad to be together. Although we are always sad not to have Zach here with us or the rest of our extended family, they are always close to our hearts and ever present in out thoughts.

Turkey's and Tepee's

In honor of Thanksgiving Jamison, Rohin, and Murphy made some super cute Turkeys out of apples , candy, marshmallows, and pretzels. And then Indian Tepee's with Ice cream cones, vanilla frosting, candies, and all sorts of fun sprinkles. As you can see they each let their creative juices flow. I was so bummed that I didn't get a picture of Murphy and his creations. Oh well, next time. It was a fun, we love it when Rachel comes over with her boys. I think everyone had a good time.

Rohin and his "Mohawk" Turkey. Love It!!

I got these little gems from the DI (like a Good Will) and thought I would recover and repaint them for some additional seating for Jamison and his little buddies. I think they turned out pretty well.

Fun Filled Saturday

Today was a busy day for the Miller clan. We started the day at the Lowe's Kids Workshop. There Jamison got to make a snowman frame. I think his favorite part was getting to use a hammer and putting on the stickers. Then we headed over to one of our local grocery stores for their Kids Club activity. There was a ton of stuff going on there. Jamison made an Indian necklace, a hand print Turkey, and an Indian vest. Very fun. I'll have to get a picture of it all to add on here. Then home for a much needed nap.
This evening we headed down to Gateway in Salt Lake City for their Christmas Tree Lighting. It was freezing but I didn't feel like sitting around the house all evening so I got my guys and we headed out. It was so festive down there. The music was awesome, all the decorations are tons of fun, and the Christmas tree was awesome.
Fun day

2 Cars

Earlier this week I took Jamison out to Layton to his pediatrician for the good old flu shot. After that I thought I would let him burn off some energy running around the mall.
It was November 17th, Not even Thanksgiving yet mind you, butthere was Santa and his little helpers all set up and ready to go. I took Jamison over and asked him if he wanted to go see Santa to which he replied "No, No, No!" So I said " OK , let me know if you change your mind" and off we went. A little later while shopping around he suddenly says" I see Santa", me, " You want o see Santa now?", Jamison, "OOOOKayyy!" Alrighty then. So we stopped what we were doing and headed right back over to Santa. He was so cute, he slowly walked up to Santa, body straight, arms straight down at his side like a little soldier, head straight forward with his eyes aimed high trying to figure the whole situation out. Santa of course gave a very Jolly welcome and invited Jamison to sit up on his lap. He then followed suit by asking Jamison what he wanted for Christmas. He replied in a VERY low whisper "2 Cars". Totally unrehearsed, 2 Cars. That's my boy he loves his cars. I had to repeat it to Santa because apparently my motherhood hearing super powers are stronger than his Jolly Old Saint Nick I see you when your sleeping, I know when your awake powers. :)
Then he did me the biggest favor of the season. He told Jamison he had to be a good boy and eat ALL HIS DINNER and clean up all his toys. Jamison replied" OOOOKayyyyy" , gave him a hug, and we were off. I of course played it up with a big, " wow your so lucky you got to see Santa!".
Now I have to say Jamison has been not so compliant at dinner time lately. He eats his fruit and is done. And if I don't offer the fruit, he eats nothing. He is very aware that there are no snacks after dinner and thus we have had a some not so enjoyable evenings with a hungry, grumpy little boy. So that night as the same scenario was being played out during dinner I reminded Jamison that Santa said he had to eat ALL HIS DINNER so he could bring him 2 cars. He stopped whining about being done, looked at Terry and I, picked up his fork took the biggest bit of his food EVER, and finished all his dinner. YES!!!!!!! Terry and I looked at each other with our mouths hanging open. I couldn't believe that he got it. And let me say that every night since we have reminded him about Santa's requirement and dinner is handled. We also are reminded SEVERAL times through out the day "good boy, Santa 2 cars."
I don't know if we will make it all the way to Christmas, it is still a ways off, Santa may have to make good on his offer a little sooner than originally planned if we want to keep him on track .We'll have to see on that. It just amazes me how fast he is growing up and how much he is learning. Time is going too fast.

Temple

This is a post card that we brought home from California last year. As you can see it is well worn. Jamison has carried that thing all over the place. I was stunned a while ago when he came out to me and had this to tell me, " Mom, mom, mom, mom," me: " yeah". Jamison pointing to the postcard: "Temple"
CUTE!!
How did he get that, I mean yeah I get it, the Disney Castle looks like an LDS temple but admittedly I don't think I have spent any extra effort teaching him about temples yet. I guess those trips to temple square and drives up by the bountiful temple must have sunk in.

Turkey! Turkey!

This is a fun little project Jamison did in preschool today. He made a cute little Turkey. He's finally getting the idea that a chicken and turkey are 2 different fowl.

Fall Days

The weather this week has been so wonderful. Today while we were hanging out front enjoying the day I thought the kids might like to play in the leaves. So while raking some up for them Erin came up with a brilliant idea, pull the slide over and put it in the pile. Oh man they had so much fun sliding into that pile of leaves. It was so cute to hear them laughing and just having some good old fashioned outdoor fun.

Train Ride and Breakfast

Monday morning we got up and headed down to the Front runner. We took the train to Layton for breakfast at Emme and Deans, I think that's the name of it :). It is great because the Layton stop is at the restaurant. We had yummy scones and enjoyed a really fun morning together.

I couldn't believe my little Mimi who will only drink a small glass of orange juice for breakfast put away a whole scone.
