Kindness of a stranger

So today I had planned on making chicken soup for dinner, thought I had everything, but as it turned out I needed some celery and an onion. So after Jamison woke up from his nap we ran down to Smiths. Jamison has a super snugly twin size blanket he likes to drag around the house and CAN NOT sleep without it, and today decided he need it for this quick trip to the store, cool whatever we take the blanket. While I was carrying him into the store, with his blanket, he covers his face with his hands and squeals "Cold" as the wind is blowing, so I grab the blanket and through it over his head, he smiles, and headbutts me. Oh the love. Anyhow we get inside and they have all their cloths out in the entrance, and I decide to take a detour and am just "window shopping" when a women taps me on the shoulder. I turn around and she says " I just have to tell you what a good mom you are, I saw you walking in the store when you covered up your son in the cold, it was so cute", we exchanged some kind banter and she was on her way. I'm not writing this to brag or to show how great I am and how people on the streets are noticing, because that is certainly not the case, but because I was so touched by this woman and wish I could have truely thanked her for her sweet words. As I walked away about a minute later I could hardly keep back the tears. I was so filled with Heavenly Fathers love. It was just the littlest act of love I didn't even realize I needed. I have been dealing with so much over the last few months with no end in sight, if it's not one thing it's another and lately I have felt like I was reaching the end of my rope. But then something like this women today intervenes, and it gives you the strength to keep on going on. And I'm sure she will never know how much she lifted my load. I am so grateful that even though sometimes I feel so far away, Heavenly Father isn't and gives us that little hug we need and it reminds us that he is there watching and waiting. And how grateful I am for those that he uses to do such great work.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yes a Happy Valentines Day it was.It was great to be able to spend the day together and just have a relaxing time. We started the Holiday off by going out to Clearfield to Rhonda and Verles'. Jamison stayed at home with his cousins while the Mommas and the Dada's went out to eat. We were only gone about and hour and it seems that that was about Jamison's limit. When we got home he was standing in the doorway with Aubrey with tears welling up in his eyes. Just before we got home he had realized we weren't there. So perfect timing. Then we spent the rest of the evening playing games and enjoyed some pre-Valentine treats. Jamison was a party animal and stayed up until we left at 10:00p.m.

This is a very special Valentine Card Jamison got from his cousin Elizabeth. I has a picture of a dog she drew on it that said "I woof you" . He loved it!!! He still keeps opening it up and barking at the dog . Thanks Elizabeth. He also got some fun stuff from Auntie Jess, A new Lovie and his first shaving kit. Also, his grandma Betty sent him some Yummies and a stuffed dog. How did everyone know how much he loves his animals. :)

Daddy and Mommy got him a card, (a Winnie the "POO POO"card)a couple books, a new cup, and a bear. He was very excited.

Of course we had our family breakfast with heart pancakes, eggs, and bacon.

What a sweet boy. Here he is giving me the Valentine he picked out. He's a giver that one.

And Jamison spent quite some time picking out just the right card for Daddy. He likes to go through ALL the cards before making a final choice.

While I almost can't stomach myself in this pic, I had to put it on because I think Jamison is hilarious in this shot. What a nut, he is so silly.

And the end to a fun day. Valentines dinner at home. It is fun to have a special day to remember the love we have for all our family and friends. Next up... Easter :)

Fun with the son :)

Jamison and I were in charge of the treat for family home evening this week so he helped me make chocolate pudding and sweet whipped cream. Do you think he likes the cream? I had to practically rip that spatula out of his hands. And I am so glad we have his castle slide. It does double duty as fun toy and safe stool while he hangs out at the counter helping or watching whatever we are doing.
I love that he is old enough to start "helping" in the kitchen. He loves it!! Perhaps another chef in the family.Auntie Jenna will be proud.
